Topcon Positioning Group just released IS-310 imaging layout station. It is a highly developed imaging and measurement system that can be utilized to enhance the efficiency of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the construction layout and as-built stages associated with any construction project.
The construction professionals can apply IS-310 to numerous projects with interior measurement and layout. It can also be used on HVAC, piping, walls, ceilings and fixtures.
The IS-310 contains an integral dual camera system that can snap a permanent and precise photo record of a single project. The two-camera system have telephoto and wide-angle images for documenting the adjacent features.

The IS-310 also contains a 360° Photo Fieldbook program having ability to record each point, empowering the operator an easy-to-recall ‘as-built’ panoramic image of the complete scene which can be accessed any time in the future. This feature will reduce the chances of any kind of misunderstanding which may be occurred on the job site at any time on some particular stage of the project.
In order to make construction layout and as-built measurement simplified, the IS-310 comes up with real time video control facilitating an operator to put the instrument at high structural points by selecting the display on a Topcon Tesla field controller and applying the in-built laser pointer if required. The IS-310 contains the additional features like tracking a prism in robotic mode.
The IS-310 is compatible with Topcon’s MAGNET Field Layout and MAGNET Office Layout and can transfer data with MAGNET Enterprise and AutoCAD 360 to provide guarantee that the most updated project information is accessible at the time of requirements.
