Some useful cad tips to improve the performance of AutoCAD software

Jaiprakash Pandey, the renowned mechanical engineer and corporate cad trainer provides some useful cad tips for improving the functionality of AutoCAD.
These tips will allow you to accelerate the speed of AutoCAD devoid of making any modification to the hardware configuration.
Deactivating startup programs:
It is the most recognized process to accelerate the functionality of your AutoCAD software as well as your PC. To do this, visit control panel and choose small icons option in view list. Opt for administrative tools from existing tools and choose system configuration shortcut.
Visit startup tab and deactivate all non-essential apps from the list. For windows 8 and 10 you have to turn off non-essential apps from startup tab through task manager by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Delete key.
Restart your PC once all these modifications are done to verify the impact on the performance of software.
Eliminate nonessential clutter: The working speed of AutoCAD will be increased if it can store more memory to execute its task. Memory can be cleared if the unessential software is uninstalled. Thus, the background process will also be restricted. You have to retain the necessary software on your PC and uninstall all unessential software.
The performance can also be enhanced by clearing disk space.
Go to start menu and in search section type Disk Cleanup and choose Disk Cleanup tool from results. Opt for C drive from the tool and click OK, wait until it fully examines your C drive. Click on Clean up system files button and click on OK again.
A new list of files will be visible which comprise of more unessential file types like contents of temporary folder and residuals of old OS installation. Choose all of the check boxes from the list (just keep backup files and offline web pages from the field) and click OK.
Hardware acceleration: To improve the graphics and entire performance, just activate hardware acceleration. This feature is only recommended when your video card is compatible with OpenGL, a 2D and 3D graphics API.
To facilitate hardware acceleration type 3DCONFIG on the command line and press Enter then turn the Hardware Acceleration button On in the Effects Settings panel.
If your video card is not compatible with OpenGL the hardware acceleration option will show grayed out or inactive.
Clearing AutoCAD files: Often slow performance of your software is caused by a complicated CAD file. To get rid of this issue, delete unused components from the CAD file with the help of PURGE command to transform it less bulky. AUDIT command can also be applied to make it free from errors.
