Autodesk is going to introduce a new series of products like Advance Steel 2018 & Steel Connections for Revit 2018

Autodesk is going to introduce Advance Steel 2018 next month with consistent use of LOD 350* Revit models.

This new release will facilitate the engineers to produce more precise designs and bills of materials to the detailer and fabricator. Besides, the detailer will be able to reciprocate to design modifications rapidly at the time of providing the files required to drive steel fabrication. This interoperability brings huge benefits to the steel detailers and fabricators to reap the benefits of the steel design model.

There will be various significant enhancements in Autodesk’s Steel Connections for Revit 2018 release which include more than130 parametric steel connections. These connections may be transmitted to the Revit model to facilitate design coordination enhancements among engineers and fabricators. This new release will also include customized framing Revit families for custom sections. Now, it is possible to deliver code check for customized parameters.

This upgraded BIM-centric functionality will facilitate structural engineers, steel detailers, and fabricators to perform their duty more co-actively inside a shared BIM-based environment. As for instance, in recent times, TSI Structures, a fabricator in the UK, applied Advance Steel together with the engineer’s Revit model to facilitate minimizing their project schedule by 20%.
